Parkitecture

Many of us have fond memories of cross country family vacations visiting the grand Lodges in National Parks of the west like Yosemite, Glacier and Yellowstone. The soaring ceilings, hand peeled logs, dramatic chandeliers, wood burning fireplaces, massive expanses of glass framing the landscape of the old west remind us of these nostalgic times.

"Parkitecture" can influence people's desire to retire in a Log Home or the design of a vacation home. The style is reminiscent of buildings originally constructed a century ago as the railroads expanded west. The style was designed by the era's top-flight architects who captured the bond between architecture and the landscape.

Though not on the grand scale of these iconic lodges, today's Log Homes still incorporate the features so beloved by this "Parkitecture". Whether building a 1000 square foot cabin in the woods, or a 6000 square foot luxury Log Home, we still incorporate the beauty of natural materials, cozy fireplaces, and windows that bring the outside in.
