Essential Sub-Contractors

Those outside the Custom Home Building Industry may underestimate the essential role of Trusted Sub-contractors play in each project. On average we engage 30 sub-contractors employing 70 plus individuals who contribute to the successful building of a custom home. Some of these include:

Excavators who understand the unique challenges of High Altitude Mountain construction
Log and Timber Suppliers the employ true craftsmen for perfect fit of each log
Electricians who understand the challenges of getting power from point A to point B in log construction
Plumbers who specialize in high efficiency heating systems
Roofers who install to the latest codes and standards
Cabinet and Flooring supplies who give us the best quality for the best price
Stone masons that employ the most skilled craftsmen
Creative tile setters
Specialized granite fabricators
This is just a small sample of the contractors we hand pick based on historical quality workmanship, reliability, and fair pricing. At Mountain Log Homes of CO, many of our sub-contractors have worked with us for 10 or more years and will honor warranty work, show up on our required tight schedules, and communicate well with both the homeowner and our staff.

When choosing your General Contractor, looking at consistency of quality workmanship on previous projects is key. Ask to take a tour of past projects and be sure to pay attention to the details. A General Contractor with longevity in the community will have relationships with the best subs in the local community to build your custom home. Even if your GC doesn't take the "lowest bid", he may be saving you money in the long run by avoiding problems and keeping your project on schedule. He will know how to evaluate the proposals for materials and installation differences to assure apples to apples bidding and best quality for the investment. Part of the evaluation process is assuring every contractor on your job is properly insured, trained, and will be there for you in the future if needed.
Feel good that your home is contributing to the local economy by supporting local workers and their families.
